The Cobden Business Network Code
The Cobden Business Network was formed to:
- Provide professional support for all members.
- Promote a competitive business environment.
- Provide the best service to district residents to encourage them to shop locally.
- Encourage members to work together to maximise business opportunities.
- Provide full-time and part-time employment for district residents.
- Provide work placement opportunities for young people.
- Promote partnerships and relationships between organisations and businesses.
- Promote partnerships and relationships between business and business.
To facilitate these aims:
- It is important that all businesses join Progressing Cobden as a show of support for one another.
- All businesses should lead by example by shopping locally, where possible.
- If we cannot accommodate a client, we should refer him/her to another Cobden business and then to a businessin a neighbouring town.
- If an issue arises between members, it must be resolved positively in a conciliatory and confidential manner.
- More experienced business people should be encouraged to act as mentors: younger members should be respected for their new ideas and enthusiasm.
- Bi-monthly network meetings will be scheduled for 60 to 75 minutes to maintain participation and interest, and to encouage attendance.
- Owners and employees should not park in front of their own or other business premises, particularly in the town's shopping area. Use of off-street parking and other nearby streets will make it easier for all customers to access Cobden businesses.
